FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If your card was charged, you’re on the list. The email for confirmation is entered at purchase time. It may have been sent to an auto-filled or older email address, but no email is required for entry. Simply bring your photo ID and we’ll check you in.
I never received my confirmation email.
Even though the system says pending that is not an issue. We guarantee that your name has been added to the list. All you need is to bring your ID to the show.
My order says “PENDING FULFILLMENT”. What do I do?
There is no e-ticket required for entrance. Just provide your name to the attendant at the door, and you’ll be all set. Our guest list includes the name of the person who placed the order and the number of guests they purchased for. We will check you in according to party.
Where's my ticket? Do I need a physical ticket to get in?
Can I buy tickets at the door, or do I need to purchase in advance?
All tickets can be purchased from our website up until the show time listed for an event.
If seating is available, we will be able to accept Venmo or cash at the door.

Do you offer group rates for large parties?
Yes. We can produce a comedy show at your venue for holiday parties, corporate events, and private bookings. We handle booking the comics and running the show on-site, tailored to your space and vibe. ABOUT
The Setup was started in Feb 2015 in San Francisco as a monthly comedy show. Since then it has expanded to become a national comedy brand with several shows a week across different cities. In the past 7 years over 100,000 people have attended our shows. We are known for creating the best stand up comedy experience available. We curate and showcase the nations most talented comedians.
We are always looking for great venues with a sophisticated aesthetic to partner with. Our model has been repeated many times with success and we’d love to bring our event to your space.

I was honestly a little nervous booking a comedy show for a work event. You never know how a room full of coworkers is going to take it. But it was so good. The comics were sharp, kept it inclusive, nobody felt called out. Our CEO pulled me aside after and said it was the best company event we've had in years. We're already booked again for this December.
We do an annual off-site to get the whole engineering team in the same room. This year in Chicago we added a private Setup show on the first night and it completely changed the dynamic. People who had never met in person were loose and laughing by the end of it. We kept hearing callbacks to the show jokes all through the next two days. That kind of thing is really hard to manufacture.
I didn't want another dinner or a night at a bar for my 40th. My friend had been to one of their regular shows and suggested I look into booking them privately. They set up in my living room for about 35 people and it exceeded every expectation I had. I had guests texting me the next morning still going on about it.
I was planning a bachelorette in Seattle and wanted the Saturday night to feel special without doing a club. Someone had mentioned The Setup so I reached out and booked a private show at the house we rented. The comics were so good and totally matched the energy of the group. The bride was in tears laughing by the end. Genuinely the best night of the whole trip.
We had about 150 people at our launch event and needed something to anchor the evening after the product demos. I pitched comedy to my boss and she was skeptical. The Setup completely won the room. Multiple clients and a few press people came up to me specifically asking who we booked. That kind of word of mouth is not easy to get.
We'd had a really tough few months and I wanted to do something meaningful for the team at the end of the year. We did the private show right after our all-hands and the whole room just loosened up. People who mostly work async were talking and laughing together on the walk out. It sounds simple but it genuinely shifted something for us going into the new year.
You’d be hard-pressed to find any comedy basement in the city that more closely resembles the classic, brick-lined institutions across New York. The Set Up at 222 Hyde St. has suffered through several changes as the street-facing bar has changed ownership a few times, but this version may be the best yet.
